ACARD Will Cooperate with Sonic to Develop a New DVD/CD dupilcator Controller Based on Qflix for Network Movie Do

Taipei, Taiwan – May 3, 2007 –ACARD, the SCSI/IDE, RAID and storage solutions provider, today announced that it will cooperate with Sonic, the digital media software manufacturer, to develop a new kind of DVD/CD dupicator controller based on Qflix (DVD on Demand) technology. Via this technology a user can purchase a move through network, and then directly record the movie using the copy controller and print the cover. The recorded movie can be played on any DVD players, and its contents are fully protected. Undoubtedly, this will eventually create a totally new industry chain in the field of digital entertainment.
Sonic DVD on Demand is a new type of technical platform with powerful functions. It fulfills a secured and reliable movie downloading and recording. Qflix is a technical and intellectual property permit and meanwhile a licensing plan, which brings CSS (Content Scramble System) approved by motion picture companies to recordable DVDs. By the brand Qflix retailers, electronic distributors, service providers, motion picture companies, contents providers, hardware and software manufacturers can offer their DVD on Demand solutions that support CSS. For consumers Qflix just means premium video and movie contents on demand either at home, in a store or via network.
ACARD’s copy controllers based on Qflix can provide more convenient and faster approach to Hollywood’s premium entertainment contents via the Internet, and let more consumers purchase lawful DVD videos quickly. In other words, Qflix can provide manufacturers with few or quite a number of movies, and reduce the release costs dramatically. For retailers ACARD’s copy controllers based on Qflix will make them sell more, and meanwhile control the costs of stock management, and decrease the returned goods.
