ACARD launches RAID 5 Ultra 160 SCSI RAID Box

Taipei, Taiwan October 20, 2005 ACARD, one of the top three SCSI chip designers in the world, launches a RAID 5 Ultra 160 SCSI RAID Box ARS-3031 for users of DVR (Digital Video Recording), DAR (Digital Audio Recording) and Media Streaming. Recently DVR has become a mainstream product due to the popularity of worldwide network of broadband. And since more and more families use broadband network, the demand of security-related products will be great in the next 5 years.
Usually DVR has 2 hard drives, but owing to the need of high resolution and the development of random selection video, the market of external storage devices for DVR has grown largely. In view of this ACARD produced ARS-3031, which has high capacity and guarantees data security.
ARS-3031 provides functions of RAID 0, 1, 0+1, 3, 5, JBOD and Normal. It not only lets you have enough space to store image files but also secures the data in the hard drives. One set of ARS-3031 has four 500GB SATA hard drives, the total capacity is 2TB. You can connect more than one set to satisfy your requirement. The transfer interface of ARS-3031 is SCSI Ultra 160 (the transfer rate up to 160MB) but connects four SATA hard drives; it is because ARS-3031 uses the excellent technology of ACARD, which can increase the I/O efficiency. As for the SCSI adapter, if you dont have it, you can choose one of the following two models made by ACARD: AEC-67160, 1-channel Ultra 160 SCSI adapter; AEC-67162, 2-channel Ultra 160 SCSI adapter. With the SCSI card you can easily connect ARS-3031 to your PC or DVR.
