November 30, 2010 Taipei – ACARD Technology Corp., who specializes in SCSI/IDE/SATA, RAID and security surveillance storage device OEM/ODM designs, announced an optical disc storage system today that has a mechanical arm and able to automatically change discs for direct video burning storage, equipped with ACARD’s 2.5 generation single-chip and native SATA storage processor, specially designed for video surveillance systems, and is a patented product of both Taiwan (Patent number: M385061) and Germany (Patent number: TW099205148). The direct video burning technology used on this optical disc surveillance system is different from the optical storage backup; the user does not need to save the digital image onto the host computer’s hard drive then manually back it up onto optical discs. The surveillance video recording does not record onto the host computer’s hard drive; instead, the video image is burned directly onto the optical disc. This method can avoid people from editing the video during the conversion process, so when it is presented as an evidence on court, it can be used as the most powerful evidence.
