LVD SCSI Drive – Best Storage Solution
--- ACARD’s next generation SCSIDE chip solution is the AEC-7732 Bridge for bridging SATA devices (BD/DVD/Tape) to the high-speed LVD SCSI interface. --

[Taipei, Taiwan - 2009/8/24] ACARD announced the next generation SCSIDE product, AEC-7732 (160MB/s; 68pins) LVD SCSI-to-SATA controller, for bridging 5.25” SATA (Serial ATA) devices to the LVD SCSI (Small Computer System Interface) interface by adopting the latest in SOC (System On Chip) technology. The AEC-7732 Bridge can benefit users wishing to upgrade the storage capacity on their existing large-scale manufacturing equipment, but are unable to purchase off-the-shelf DVD/BD/Tape devices using the LVD SCSI interface. This bridge is therefore a necessity for realizing high performance storage solutions in a low-cost package. AEC-7732 supports DVD-ROM, DVD/RW, BD, Tape, and other SATA devices for bridging to the SCSI bus interface. Product features are as follows:

  • SCSI to SATA Bridge adaptor
  • Supports SATA interface devices
  • Improved I/O performance
  • High performance SCSI data transfer using low cost SATA devices for excellent cost-to-performance ratio
  • Built-in high speed RISC controller from ACARD
  • SCSI interface for up to 160MB/s
  • Supports LVD SCSI interface
  • Built-in Flash ROM for firmware upgrades
  • User set SCSI ID from 0 to 15

ACARD LVD SCSI controller supports transfer speed up to 160MB/s, and is excellently priced for the value. ARC767 is the core bridge for SCSI-to-SATA interfaces, and the ARC772 SATA Bridge supports the majority of SATA devices on the market. The built-in RISC (reduced instruction set computer) microcontroller enables stable and flexible support for ARC767 in high-end storage applications.
